The 2nd Annual TechHer Summit and Awards Reception will celebrate the significant achievements of women in the technology sector. Presented by Reworld™ , the commemorative event will honor women making strides in the field today and include a panel discussion with honorees on how to leverage their experience to include more women in technology.  The TechHer Summit and Awards Reception is scheduled on Friday, July 4th from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM during Independence weekend at the beautiful Reverie, located at 2224 Poydras St., New Orleans, LA.

Keshia Walker, founder of Insights Marketing and the BCGA Foundation emphasizes the importance of this celebration.

“In a world rapidly transforming through technology, women’s unique voices are often overshadowed. The TechHer Summit & Awards aims not just to celebrate individual accomplishments, but to highlight the collective impact that we have on the tech industry. The success stories and examples of the honorees are vital to inspiring the next generation of leaders,” she explains.

The  exclusive, invitation-only event will highlight the groundbreaking contributions of women in tech, providing a platform for recognition, celebration, and inspiration.  According to womentech.net, women make up about 35% of the tech workforce. This is a huge improvement from the early 2000’s when women made up only 9%, but Walker believes there is still room for more ground to cover with women in the technology space.  She says women are essential trailblazers driving innovation and change within the industry. As the tech landscape continues to evolve, it's imperative to shine a light on the accomplishments and capabilities of these remarkable women who often go unrecognized. By celebrating their achievements, we reinforce the message of diversity and inclusion that is crucial for shaping the future of technology.

Although women hold around one third of the jobs in tech, they experience bias at unparalleled levels. Those who are part of ethnic or sexual orientation minorities are at an even bigger disadvantage because they face double the discrimination.

If progression is to occur, the pool of talent must become unlimited. According to TechHer host and moderator, Adrienne Trimble, events like the TechHer Summit and Awards are important because of the attention they bring to the accomplishments of women in tech. “By elevating these trailblazing women they are empowered to pave the way for others aspiring to enter the field of the future. We know that representation matters in the workplace and we want more young women to see themselves succeeding in technology. We hope to inspire high school and college graduates to consider tech jobs as a part of their professional future,” she explains.

TechHer Summit and Awards provide a much-needed platform to amplify the voices of women in technology,” Keshia adds. “Each award signifies not just recognition, but a call to the industry to acknowledge and nurture the unique perspectives that diversity brings. It is our responsibility to celebrate, support, and promote equity in technology for all women.”
