Publisher Victor Flavius created Lenox & Parker as a literary offering in honor of Charles Lenox Remond and Sarah Parker Remond. Charles and Sarah were influential figures during the 19th century, working tirelessly to advance the rights and empower the black community. As prominent abolitionists, orators, and activists, the Remonds made significant contributions in the fight against slavery, discrimination, and social inequality.

New Board of Directors

Lenox & Parker is dedicated to celebrating Black history as a collective idea and not confined within the boundaries of 28 days or the limitations of pop culture.

“I like to say we are built upon the legacy of black excellence and but for 2025 we’ve re-dedicated our mission to supporting our global community. This year we’ve been reminded of the importance of supporting our small business owners, our product owners, our authors, speakers and other talent. January’s cover talent Daymond John started a company titled “for us by us” aka FUBU years ago. We have adopted that phrase as our mission statement so that our community is supported for us and by us,” Flavius explains.

Lenox & Parker Editor-in-Chief, Christal Jordan Jennings incorporated a board of directors for the publication that brings a wealth of influential expertise to the publication. “Finance and wealth management were our immediate focus because I strongly believe the answer to racial bias in this country begins with economic empowerment, access to capital and financial resources. I’m not convinced that we are in need of acceptance or even elevation by others, I am of the old-school mentality of preferring the tools to fish as opposed to a plate of fish and bread. I’m excited to announce our partnership with wealth management expert Brett Holcomb and his new segment, “Here’s To Your Wealth’ Brett specializes in helping entrepreneurs acquire profitable small to mid-sized businesses that generate strong cash flow. His bi-weekly insight allows us to educate our community on truly acquiring and maintaining wealth.”

Jordan Jennings credits her current success to admiring the examples of Former Editor in Chief Susan L. Taylor, and her love for mainstream publications like Vogue, Mademoiselle and Glamour. “Fashion is such an integral part of culture, but reverence for the intersection of beauty and art in mainstream publications, it was imperative to bring in a fashion editor with a globally artistic perspective. I’ve witnessed Angela Watts vision for urban fashion, specifically in Atlanta, Ga. Against the naysayers she’s grown the brand from inception others to an international burgeoning fashion competitor. Angela founded Atlanta fashion week and her advocacy of emerging ethnic designers is groundbreaking. ATLFW’s partnerships with Bloomingdale’s is innovative and offers an opportunity for us to include the fashion community exponentially.

The partnership with Datrick Davis and his ‘Recap Room’ allows Lenox & Parker readers a  colorful behind the scenes glimpse into some of the hottest entertainment events in real time. “Datrick has an amazing eye and his visual interpretations of pop culture events is more than just a recap, it’s art, it’s culture,” Jordan Jennings explains.

New Board of Directors

Lia Keonna completes the new leadership team as Music Director. Lia’s love for Caribbean and urban music and her appreciation for what inspires the artist has made her contributions connect with L&P readers.

“We are rolling out this new leadership team in style with a Black History month collector’s edition of the publication. We know so many Black outlets are suffering in these times, so this issue allows us to stand in solidarity with Black media around the world. The graphic makes a bold statement because we no longer have the luxury of remaining subtle,” Jordan Jennings says.

Lenox & Parker announced its new board of directors under the leadership of EIC Christal Jordan, including Wealth & Finance Editor Brett Holcomb, Fashion Editor Angela Watts, Entertainment Editor Datrick Davis, Music Editor Lia Keonna.

The announcement will be released in a Lenox & Parker Black History collector’s edition that will go to print Monday, February 17, 2025.
