Gospel Greats Shine at Historic 2025 Hall of Fame Induction
The 2025 Gospel Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Expo lit up the St. Louis Convention Center on September 5–6 with a soul-stirring celebration of faith, legacy, and music. This year's event made history, inducting over 100 gospel artists, choirs, and influencers—more than any previous year. From golden-age pioneers to contemporary icons, the diversity of styles and eras honored spoke to gospel's enduring cultural impact.
Among the most celebrated inductees were living legends Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, and The Clark Sisters, each receiving thunderous standing ovations. Also honored posthumously were Whitney Houston and her mother Cissy Houston, whose gospel roots shaped generations of vocalists. The ceremony blended heartfelt speeches with powerhouse performances, bringing together choirs, soloists, and surprise collaborations that brought the crowd to its feet.

Beyond the induction ceremony, the weekend featured an interactive expo with panel discussions, archival exhibits, and live showcases spotlighting rising gospel talent. Attendees explored gospel’s global influence and its evolving role in today’s music landscape.
We at Lenox and Parker had the honor of speaking with several inductees, many of whom reflected on the genre’s transformative power. “Gospel music gave me my voice, but also my purpose,” said Kirk Franklin. Dr. Monica R. Butler, founder of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, called this year’s event “a divine milestone—honoring not just artists, but a movement rooted in hope.”
With music that uplifts and messages that endure, this year's induction proved that gospel’s legacy is alive and well.
