For nearly two decades, Disney Dreamers Academy, Walt Disney World Resort’s signature program, has brought 100 high school students from across the country to the resort and parks for an immersive four-day experience focused on career exploration, personal development, and discovering what’s possible. Now, as the program celebrates its 20th anniversary, Disney is expanding that vision through a new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Under the new model, Disney Dreamers Academy will evolve from a four-day experience into a year-round, multi-year program designed to reach students earlier and stay connected with them longer. Beginning in January 2027, participating middle and high school students will take part in virtual and in-person experiences focused on mentorship, confidence-building, academic and personal growth, and career exploration. They'll connect with Disney cast members, Disney Dreamers Academy alumni, and other mentors, while also getting the opportunity to experience the magic of Walt Disney World firsthand through visiting the parks.

The new chapter is designed to build on the impact of the program's first 19 years while bringing its message of possibility directly into students' communities.

“I've seen firsthand the confidence, connections, and opportunities Disney Dreamers Academy has provided students over the past 19 years,” said Sivonne Davis, Vice President of Marketing Strategy. “This builds on the foundation to inspire students to explore their potential and dream beyond what they imagined possible.”

The first class of 200 Dreamers will be announced in October 2026, with programming beginning in January 2027. The pilot program will launch in four metropolitan areas—Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston—with 50 students expected to be selected from each community. The locations were chosen based on Disney’s existing presence and relationships with families and community organizations, as well as their strong connections to Disney Dreamers Academy, with many alumni hailing from these communities. Disney plans to expand the program to additional locations over time.

“Programs like this create the exposure and opportunities that help our young people dream beyond their circumstances and see new possibilities for their future,” said Jamie Merrill, President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. “Disney's investment doesn't just expand horizons, it has the power to change lives and create lasting impact in our communities."

With its expanded reach, earlier engagement, and continued connection to Walt Disney World, Disney Dreamers Academy is beginning its next 20 years by making the dream bigger — and bringing more young people along for the journey.
