Candiace Dillard Bassett Welcomes Her First Child, Son Jett Maxwell Lee: 'I Already Want More'

Candiace Dillard Bassett and her husband Chris welcomed baby boy Jett Maxwell Lee on Thursday, October 3. “Oh, I wish I started sooner, because I already want more,” Candiace gushed to People magazine. In a People exclusive, Candiace and her husband are pictured with their miracle baby. Fans of RHOP experienced Candiace journey to motherhood on the show. After announcing her pregnancy, Candiace left the show after the season 8 reunion. Earlier this year, Candiace spoke with Lenox & Parker’s EIC Christal Jordan about her decision to leave the show and focus her energy on family and her music career. “I believe women can have it all. I see other mothers touring with their children and it’s how I envision my future,” Candiace explained.

Lenox & Parker EIC says covering Candiace’s journey to motherhood was an honor. After watching Candiace’s journey on the show, we were excited to celebrate her as an advocate for other women dealing with their own path to fertility. As a young career woman, wife and political activist, Candiace embodied the principles we pride ourselves on celebrating within the Black community. Baby Jett is my birthday twin so I am invested in his arrival in more ways than one,” she laughs.

Baby Jett has his mother’s complete attention but he’ll be sharing it soon with Candiace’s music and television career. Fans have been complaining about Candiace’s presence being missed on RHOP, but the new mother believes everything will happen as it should. “I’d never say never about returning to the show, but right now I’m enjoying life and looking forward to music,” she says.
