Visionary Trell Thomas partnered his celebrated Black Excellence Brunch with CBS Paramount plus for an exclusive afternoon uniting trailblazers in the Atlanta entertainment community for an unforgettable celebration of art, culture and achievement. The afternoon focused on a special sneak peek of CBS all-new urban television soap opera ‘Beyond the Gates’.  Immediately following the screening guests were treated to a Q&A with leading cast members including Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphne Duplaix and Karla Mosley.

As always the inclusive yet immersive experience included the celebrities from Atlanta’s Star-studded film and television culture such as legendary actress and producer Teri Vaughn along with social and civil influencers such as Black Lives Matters board President Cicely Gay. Sponsored by Warner Bros the signature brunch requested guests to don their jazziest all white cocktail attire as they gathered to celebrate the upcoming project.

Set in an elite Maryland suburb on the outskirts of Washington, DC in one of the most affluent African American suburbs in the country, the new series seeks to re-connect audiences with the stories our great aunts and grandmother’s enjoyed as part of their daily routines while tending to their homes.

Trell Thomas, founder of the Black Excellence Brunch believed the partnership was a perfect opportunity for Black History Month. “The Black Excellence Brunch is more than just an event — it’s a movement dedicated to uplifting and connecting our community,” Trell says. “Having the opportunity to showcase ‘Beyond the Gates’ alongside its incredible cast, reinforces the power of Black storytelling and the importance of celebrating our collective impact.”

The Black Excellence Brunch series reimagines the tradition of “Sunday Dinners”, transforming them into a platform where Black culture, history and elegance are celebrated in all forms. What started as a local gathering has grown into a global celebration, from the iconic landscapes of Martha’s Vineyard and the vibrant streets of Ghana to the esteemed architecture of the White House. Each brunch serves as a powerful reminder of our community’s enduring legacy, honoring the past while inspiring the future.
