“Fur demands respect—it isn’t like cutting fabric. But the more technical the process, the more creative I can be.”

For Tiara, fur isn’t bound by season or climate. She designs cropped tops and Mongolian halters for Miami nights, furry heels and featherweight vests for island escapes. “Fur is fashion, not just weather,” she says. “You can live in Jamaica or Atlanta and still indulge—it’s about how you wear it, not what the thermostat says.”

The conversation inevitably turns to faux, which Tiara acknowledges has its place. “Faux has its lane—it’s accessible and considered ‘safe.’ But authentic fur is sustainable, recyclable, and luxurious in a way faux can’t replicate. Faux eventually breaks down into plastic waste. Real fur can be conditioned, stored, and passed on for generations. If you’re investing in a legacy piece, authentic fur is always the answer.”
