West Coast rapper Markas continues his upward momentum with the release of Not Enough Years, a 12-track album that dives deep into personal trauma, growth, and self-awareness. The project marks a defining moment in his catalog, capturing the evolution of both his voice and his vision.

With emotionally raw tracks like the title cut Not Enough Years and the gripping “Dependents,” Markas opens up about survival and hardship without leaning on pity. His storytelling shines, built from scars and resilience rather than bravado. On the track “Glitch,” he raps, “At 16 I was locked in that cage, huh / And I ain’t been back since, I been harder to catch since,” giving listeners a glimpse into the pivotal events that shaped his life.

The album’s soundscape—led by producers Gerald “The Sound” Keys, Ulisses, Marc-Easy, and Brixxisking—stretches from moody and introspective to bold and dance-ready. Tracks like “Scream” offer high-energy breaks from the heavier themes, blending bounce with introspection. The sonic variety mirrors Markas’s growth, offering polished hooks without sacrificing depth.

Two standout records, “Blitzkrieg” and “M Series,” anchor the project. The former highlights his narrative skill over dramatic production, while the latter cruises with effortless cool and lyrical flex. Both tracks reflect Markas’s ability to balance confidence with vulnerability.

According to the artist, Not Enough Years is the culmination of his “years” series. “I stepped back and saw how little time we really have,” he says. “That made me appreciate these moments even more.”

Rather than chase trends, Markas continues to carve his own lane. Not Enough Years doesn’t just document his journey—it affirms his place in the conversation. It’s a sharp, cohesive release from a rising artist ready for longevity.
