LaKithia Nicole’s interview is an inspiring look at a multi-talented creative who seamlessly blends artistry, authorship, and faith. From her Milwaukee roots to a bi-coastal career in music, acting, and hosting, she shares how her first book, The Power of Partnering with God, emerged from obedience and spiritual readiness.

She emphasizes wellness rooted in spiritual grounding, plant-based living, and daily intimacy with God. Passionate about empowering women, Nicole leads initiatives promoting unity, healing, and purpose.

Her candid reflections on generational shifts, identity, and divine alignment make this conversation not just about a book release, but a blueprint for purposeful living.

1. Hi LaKithia Nicole, briefly tell us where you’re from and a little background on your entertainment career as a triple threat: artist, author, and actress?

Absolutely. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but I’ve lived in California the longest—that’s really where I built the foundation of my entertainment career. For the past five years, I’ve been living bi-coastally between Los Angeles and New York. I got my start performing in church and have grown into a true creative with multiple lanes. I’m a rapper/singer, actress, and the host of the LaKithia Nicole Talk Show. I also formerly hosted L.A. Key in the Afternoon on iHeartRadio, which gave me a deeper connection to the audience and taught me how to hold space for real conversations. Whether I’m on screen, on stage, or on air—everything I do is about using my gifts to glorify God and help others unlock their purpose.

2. What inspired you to become an author?

I’ve been a writer since I was a little girl. I started writing poetry, music, books, raps—just expressing myself through words from a very young age. I actually have several unpublished books that have been tucked away in storage for years. Writing has always been a part of who I am. But The Power of Partnering with God was different—it came from a place of obedience. I started writing it in 2015, but I wasn’t spiritually ready to finish it until God said, ā€œNow.ā€That’s when I knew it wasn’t just another project—it was a purpose assignment.

3. Who are some authors you enjoy reading or writers that have inspired you?

I really enjoy reading Joyce Meyer and Stormie Omartian. Their writing has deeply impacted my spiritual journey, especially because they’re both so honest and grounded in the Word. I also love writers who are transparent and purposeful—people who share wisdom, not just words. Anyone who writes from a healed place inspires me.

4. When you decided to write your first book, The Power of Partnering with God, what were some steps that got you started?

The first step was getting quiet. I had to stop trying to ā€œforceā€ the book and start listening to what God wanted to say through me. Then I outlined it with prayer and fasting. I set deadlines and treated each writing session like a divine appointment. I’d wake up, pray, and write from that overflow. It was very Spirit-led. Once I surrendered the process, it all aligned.

5. Our magazine focuses a lot on lifestyle. Your book has a strong theme of wellness—what is your idea of the perfect lifestyle?

For me, the perfect lifestyle is one that’s spiritually grounded, emotionally free, physically healthy, and purpose-driven. That’s real balance. I believe in taking care of my temple—so physical fitness is a huge part of my life. I work out consistently, anywhere from five to seven days a week, doing a mix of cardio, strength, and movement. I also follow a mostly raw, plant-based diet and prioritize detoxing and healing from the inside out. But above all, my lifestyle is rooted in intimacy with God, rest, joy, and walking in purpose. When those things are in alignment, everything else flows.

6. Do you think we have enough wellness influencers in the Brown and Black community?

I believe we’re growing—but we need more Kingdom-centered voices in wellness. Our community deserves to see wellness as more than just products—it’s about generational healing, mindset shifts, and reconnecting to who we truly are. I’d love to see more of us not just influencing, but truly leading in this space with authenticity and spiritual depth.

7. Describe the major difference of how young women see themselves as opposed to how they did 10 or 20 years ago.

Today’s generation is definitely more bold and expressive—but sometimes, that boldness comes from brokenness. Twenty years ago, we were more reserved but often lacked identity. Now, there’s more freedom—but also more confusion. My mission is to help young women discover their true identity in Christ—not filtered through social media, but rooted in purpose and worth.

8. Do you mentor or work with young women organizations now?

Yes, I do. While my devotional journal isn’t out yet, I currently use my platform to mentor and pour into women daily—whether through encouragement, prayer, or spiritual insight. I also lead my empowerment company, Real Women Join Together, which is all about helping women heal both individually and collectively. Our mission is to break the spirit of division among women and create a space where we can come together, support one another, and rise in unity. I believe there’s nothing more powerful than healed women who walk in love, truth, and purpose—together.

9. A lot of young people are finding it hard to connect with a higher source. Define ways you’ve strengthened your relationship with God.

For me, it’s daily intimacy. Not just Sunday religion—but daily relationship. I start my mornings in worship and prayer. I fast regularly. I talk to God like He’s sitting right next to me, because He is. I also unplug from noise and spend quiet time just listening. That’s when the real transformation began—not when I was performing, but when I was surrendering.

10. The release date for the book is 11/11. What does it symbolize for you?

Everything. The number 11:11 is deeply prophetic in my life—it represents alignment, open doors, and divine transition. God chose that date for a reason. I believe this book will awaken people’s purpose and help them come into divine partnership with Heaven. This isn’t just a book—it’s a spiritual turning point.
