Emerging from Queens, NYC, Jah Prester is making a significant impact on the R&B landscape, bringing fresh energy to a genre that often gets overshadowed in his hometown. His latest EP, Loven’Lust, offers a raw and introspective look at the complexities of love, lust, and the emotional challenges that accompany relationships.

Loven’Lust is a deeply personal project, reflecting Jah's own experiences with love and the lessons he’s learned along the way. Songs like “Go Back In Time,” “Real Woman,” and “Something Bout U/Demon Timing (Interlude)” reveal his deep affection and appreciation for his partner, blending emotional sincerity with a strong physical connection. However, the EP doesn’t shy away from the struggles of love, with tracks like “Love Language,” “Freedom,” and “Thinking Bout You” showcasing Jah's journey to understand and navigate the difficulties of loving and being loved.

Jah Prester’s love for R&B runs deep, rooted in his admiration for the genre as a powerful form of artistic expression. Inspired by the legendary Michael Jackson after experiencing "Smooth Criminal," Jah’s musical influences expanded to include Chris Brown, who played a significant role during his formative years. His taste in music spans generations, from the classic sounds of Aaliyah, Usher, and Tevin Campbell to contemporary stars like Rihanna, Summer Walker, and Bruno Mars.

In a city where hip-hop reigns supreme, Jah Prester is carving out a unique path, especially for men in New York who share his passion for R&B. “Most people want to be the Pop Smokes and A Boogies and Lil Tjays,” Jah reflects. “But me, I want to be me. I want to focus on love and put more emphasis on vulnerability.”

Jah’s songwriting journey began as a way to cope with depression and communication struggles. Writing became a vital outlet, helping him channel his emotions into something positive. Now, through his music, Jah Prester is redefining what it means to be an R&B artist from New York—an artist unafraid to explore the complexities of love and vulnerability in a genre often dominated by other themes.

As Jah Prester continues to develop his sound and share his story, he’s setting the stage for a new wave of R&B talent from NYC. His work with Loven’Lust proves there’s more to the city’s music scene than just hip-hop, inviting listeners on a journey of self-discovery, love, and authenticity.
