We caught up with Earnest to discuss the new album, the lead single “Your Glory,” and what listeners can expect from this live-recorded worship experience.
Q: Earnest, congratulations on your upcoming album We Wanna See You. How does this project reflect where you are spiritually and artistically right now?
Earnest Pugh: Thank you! This album is a true reflection of my current walk with God. It’s about longing for His presence more deeply than ever. Spiritually, I’m at a place where I’m craving more of God’s tangible glory in my life and the lives of others. Artistically, I wanted to capture the raw, live worship atmosphere to really bring listeners into that moment of encounter.
Q: The lead single “Your Glory” is already being called a modern-day sequel to your classic “Rain On Us.” How do you feel about that comparison?
Earnest Pugh: People are calling it “Rain On Us 2.0,” and I can receive that as a compliment. But honestly, “Your Glory” stands on its own as a heartfelt cry for God’s presence to manifest. In these times, we need more than just a good song—we need His glory to show up and transform lives. That’s what this song is about.

Q: The album was recorded live in San Antonio, Texas. Why did you choose to record live, and how did that impact the final sound?
Earnest Pugh: Recording live brings a unique energy and authenticity that you just can’t replicate in a studio setting. The spontaneous moments of worship, the congregation’s response—it all adds a layer of realness and spirit that truly conveys what worship is all about. It made the album feel like an invitation for listeners to join us in that worship experience.
Q: Can you walk us through some of the songs on the album and what each represents?
Earnest Pugh: Absolutely. The album opens with “Good News,” a joyful declaration of the gospel’s power. Then “Turn It Around” brings an energetic proclamation of faith that challenges listeners to believe in breakthrough. “Your Glory” is the heart of the album—this deep, passionate plea for God’s manifest presence. The title track, “We Wanna See You,” continues this theme with intimate, reverent praise. “Air I Breathe” reminds us that God sustains us every moment, and the reprises bring us back to reflective worship, closing the album with a sense of expectancy.
Q: How do you hope We Wanna See You will impact your audience?
Earnest Pugh: My hope is that this album will not just be heard, but experienced. That it will ignite a hunger for God’s presence in people’s hearts and encourage believers to seek Him more earnestly. Worship has the power to change atmospheres, heal wounds, and bring hope. I pray this album does all of that and more.
Q: Where can fans listen to “Your Glory” and the full album when it drops?
Earnest Pugh: “Your Glory” is available now on all digital platforms. The full album We Wanna See You will be released nationwide on May 30, 2025. I encourage everyone to listen, worship, and allow God’s presence to move in their lives through these songs.
Q: Any final thoughts or messages for your fans?
Earnest Pugh: I want to thank my fans for their support over the years. This journey wouldn’t be possible without them. Keep seeking God’s glory, and remember that worship is a lifestyle—it’s more than music; it’s a way of living that invites God’s power to move in and through us.
