On Thursday, November 20th, legendary R&B icon Howard Hewett joined the Boseman family, invited guests, and distinguished performers for an unforgettable evening honoring the life and legacy of acclaimed actor Chadwick Boseman.

The event, titled “SuperHero – A Celebration of Chadwick Boseman,” also marked the premiere of a special tribute music video dedicated to the late actor.

The celebration was presented by The Boseman Family and hosted by Briana Boseman and Breah Boseman-Wyatt, who led a heartfelt program commemorating Chadwick’s lasting influence.

Earlier that day, Boseman was honored with a posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame star, a powerful reminder of the impact, dignity, and artistry he shared with the world.

At the request of the Boseman family, Howard Hewett delivered touching words in tribute to Chadwick and appeared in the program alongside actress Dawnn Lewis.

Also in attendance was acclaimed actor Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, whose presence added to the distinguished gathering of artists and peers honoring Boseman’s legacy.

Hewett’s presence added to the emotional resonance of the evening as those in attendance reflected on the late actor’s extraordinary contributions to film, culture, and humanity.

The program opened with remarks from Dr. Greshom Sikaala, pastor of His Presence Fire Church in Glendale.

The evening featured inspiring performances from The Nabate Isles Ensemble, led by Grammy-winning trumpeter Nabate Isles; the all-female ensemble Radiance; artist Chadwick “Niles” Phillips; Beth, known from NBC’s “The Voice”; and acclaimed gospel vocalist Eddie James.

The celebration continued with a meaningful Q&A segment featuring Chadwick’s brothers, Pastor Derrick Boseman and Kevin Boseman, who shared personal reflections on Chadwick’s purpose, character, and dedication to excellence.

Howard Hewett shared an emotional message during the tribute, stating:

“It was an honor to stand in tribute to a man whose light continues to shine so brightly. Chadwick Boseman left us a tremendous body of work, one rooted in purpose, truth, and unwavering strength. His life reminds us all to walk boldly in our calling and to use our gifts to uplift others. I am forever inspired by the legacy he left with the world.”
