Actor-and-real-estate-developer Malik Yoba, and real estate entrepreneur Matthew Coleman, are on a mission to transform how communities of color approach real estate.

Together, they are launching Think REAL Estate, a new podcast debuting in Atlanta.

The show promises to shatter decades of gatekeeping in the industry and provide listeners with the tools to generate and grow wealth.

The podcast is the brainchild of Matthew Coleman, the Chair of the Real Estate Committee at The Atlanta Black Chambers, a nonprofit organization representing over 1,000 Black entrepreneur CEOs in Atlanta.

Coleman is also the CEO of a successful lending company, VI Capital Lending Group, and he created the platform to address the systemic inequities he has witnessed over the course of his career.

His goal is simple yet ambitious: to empower listeners with actionable insights that make real estate opportunities accessible to everyone.

“This isn’t just about transactions; it’s about transforming lives,” Coleman explained. “The real estate industry has historically kept vital knowledge locked behind closed doors. Think REAL Estate is about breaking down those barriers and leveling the playing field, by finally presenting the REAL in real estate.”

Joining Coleman for the podcast’s launch and season finale episode is Malik Yoba, whose movements between Hollywood and real estate for more than a decade, has been nothing short of inspiring.

He is now also known as Dr. Malik Yoba, following his honorary PhD from Livingstone College, an HBCU in North Carolina, and the former actor has become a powerful advocate for using real estate as a tool for empowerment.

His company, Yoba Development, has garnered attention for its innovative projects and its commitment to uplifting underserved communities.

“Real estate is more than an investment; it’s a vehicle for building generational wealth and changing lives,” Yoba said. “When young people of color see someone who looks like them succeeding in this space, it inspires them to believe in their own potential. That’s the heart of what we’re doing with this podcast—sharing knowledge and creating access.”

The synergy between Yoba and Coleman is evident. While Coleman draws on his experience as a leader in the industry and at The Atlanta Black Chambers, Yoba brings a passion for mentorship and community engagement.

“Their enthusiasm doesn’t surprise me,” Yoba shared. “They see the opportunities real estate provides and they want to be a part of it. It’s exciting to watch that spark ignite.”

Think REAL Estate promises to be a resource-rich podcast platform for a diverse audience, from first-time buyers to seasoned investors, but it will be informative and attractive for all audiences.

Each episode will break down complex topics into digestible, actionable advice, delivered in a way that’s engaging and relatable, and that will inspire listeners to move forward in their real estate journey.

“This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn and grow,” Coleman added. “We’re creating a space where real estate isn’t intimidating but empowering. It’s about giving people the tools to take action immediately.”

The podcast also underscores the importance of community empowerment. Yoba and Coleman are committed to ensuring that their insights are widely shared and accessible to all.

In addition to his podcast appearance, Yoba debuted a real estate documentary at a recent film festival in Georgia, a project that highlights the transformative power of real estate, particularly for underrepresented communities.

For those eager to join the conversation, the Think REAL Estate podcast will be available at TheThinkRealEstatePodcast.com.

Malik Yoba can be followed on social media at @MalikYoba, where he shares updates on his projects and insights into his journey.

With the Think REAL Estate, Yoba and Coleman are not just starting a podcast—they’re sparking a movement.

Their mission to democratize real estate knowledge is set to change lives, one episode at a time.

As of publishing of this article, Matthew Coleman and Malik Yoba have decided to enter into a new partnership and will be Co-Hosts of the Think Real Estate Podcast. They are currently in planning and production to record new episodes. Stay Tuned for more on their upcoming podcast and projects.
