But it is Marrero’s lively and memorable performance as Screech that adds a new dynamic to the mix.

“Being part of Happy Gilmore 2 is truly an honor,” Marrero shares. “I grew up watching the original, so stepping onto the green with Adam Sandler and this iconic cast was surreal. I wanted to bring Screech to life in a way that made people laugh and kept them guessing.”

Standing six foot two, Marrero’s presence is impossible to ignore. But his path to the screen was anything but typical. Before acting, Marrero built a respected career in professional wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts.

A graduate of the elite Knokx Pro Wrestling Academy under legends Rikishi, Reno Anoa’i, and Gangrel, he also earned a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and won two world championships as a pro MMA fighter.

This unique background fuels Marrero’s ability to blend physicality with comedic timing which shines in his roles on Night Court, The Rookie: Feds, Sandy Wexler, and now Happy Gilmore 2.

At the New York City premiere on July 21, Marrero joined co-stars Adam Sandler, Bad Bunny, and a star-studded cast for a highly anticipated red carpet event. The film itself is a vibrant mix of nostalgia and fresh humor packed with celebrity cameos from Eminem to Rory McIlroy and Steve Buscemi.

“The energy was unreal,” Marrero recalls. “Everyone was excited to see where Happy’s story goes next and this sequel has so many wild cameos and moments people will be talking about for a long time.”

Now retired from professional fighting, Marrero is fully focused on building a versatile and impactful career in entertainment. “I’m committed to every role I take,” he says. “I love pushing myself in new directions. Happy Gilmore 2 let me show a fun side that people might not expect from someone with my background.”

With Happy Gilmore 2 streaming globally, Marrero’s star is unmistakably on the rise. His unique combination of toughness and humor promises a bright future making him one to watch in Hollywood and beyond.

Happy Gilmore 2 is available exclusively on Netflix.
