Stephon Jacquel Watt โ€” known to fans as S.J. Dub โ€” is a rapper and R&B artist whose roots run deep in New Jersey soil. Born in 1990 in Neptune and raised in nearby Asbury Park, his musical path began at just 9 years old. He first found his voice in R&B, idolizing Usher to the point where he playfully believed he was him. By his early teens, that love for melody evolved into a sharp rap delivery, with Cassidyโ€™s battle-hardened bars lighting the fire for his lyrical journey.

Early on, S.J. Dub became a standout in his neighborhood. Known for freestyling on the spot when approached by locals, his talent was impossible to ignore. School talent shows at Asbury Middle and High School became his first stages โ€” and his confidence only grew from there.

Over the years, S.J. Dubโ€™s career has hit several key milestones:

  • Featured on a Fat Joe mixtape
  • Received a shoutout from Bobby Shmurda
  • Held meetings with executives from Def Jam Recordings
  • Appeared at NYCโ€™s influential Power 105.1 radio station
  • Performed across New Jersey, New York, and Atlanta

At 15, he recorded his first studio track โ€” a turning point that kicked off a consistent output of music. His catalog now includes hundreds of singles, multiple EPs, and four full-length albums, all streaming across major platforms.

Though he once considered stepping away from music around 28 or 29, the encouragement from his children, family, friends, and fans reignited his passion. Now nearing 35, S.J. Dub is more focused than ever, as his art has begun paying off โ€” not just emotionally, but financially.

For S.J. Dub, music is more than entertainment โ€” itโ€™s therapy. It's a way to process life, stay grounded, and remain connected to the people who matter most. Time with family and creative expression are the pillars that keep him moving forward.

With new goals to take his live show to Florida, Texas, Las Vegas, and even the U.K., S.J. Dub remains a voice of perseverance โ€” proving that real artistry is built on heart, hustle, and staying power.
