A project that blends vulnerability, sharp lyricism, and undeniable energy, it’s a testament to his ability to captivate both longtime fans and new listeners. With a sound that’s as polished as it is authentic, Lasko continues to prove why Atlanta remains a hub for hip-hop innovation. Opening with the emotionally charged “Too Playaa (Intro)” and delivering standout tracks like “Atlanta,” the album showcases Lasko’s knack for balancing his city’s rich cultural history with forward-thinking sounds. We caught up with the rising star to dive deeper into his journey, his inspirations, and what fans can expect next.
Q: How would you describe your style and sound to someone who has never heard your music?
Lasko Bills: Honestly, I hate describing my sound or music—it's tough because I feel like my music is all over the place sometimes. But if I had to put a label on it, I'd call it "street conscious music."
Q: How has your style evolved since you started?
Lasko Bills: My style has evolved in so many ways. I used to be terrible at picking beats, but I’ve got it down now. Beyond that, I’ve learned how to not just rap, but actually make songs—something that resonates, something that sticks with people.
Q: What message or impact do you hope listeners take away from your music?
Lasko Bills: I want people to really feel something when they listen to my music. I want them to connect with whatever emotion the song is giving in that moment. My goal is for people to feel again when it comes to rap—because rap still has something to say.
Q: Are there any misconceptions about you as an artist that you’d like to clear up?
Lasko Bills: Yeah. I’m the best.

Q: What’s the story behind your latest project, and what sets it apart from your previous work?
Lasko Bills: It’s partly a love story to Atlanta. This project is the first one since my 4LIFE album where I used skits—I really wanted to paint a cool visual for the people who listen and appreciate the craft. The story revolves around my “unc” who’s been locked up for a while, and it gives you a glimpse of what some ATL people are like. Plus, it’s funny as hell. What makes this one different is the beat selection and the focus we put into it. Big shoutout to my business partner and creative director, Miles.
Q: If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Lasko Bills: Kanye West, Ray Charles, Future, James Brown, and Elton John—had to give you five, couldn’t pick just one. Why? Because they’ve all influenced me in some way, shape, or form.
Q: What’s your favorite song you’ve created, and what makes it special to you?
Lasko Bills: That’s easy—GGT. It’s about one of my old friends who’s currently locked up. It was one of the first songs I made outside of ATL, and it only took about 20 minutes to create. It really means a lot to me, and the fact that everybody seems to love it makes it even better. #FREEDEE
Q: Can you share any upcoming projects, performances, or surprises fans can look forward to?
Lasko Bills: Absolutely. I do short films attached to my albums, and PLAYER FABLES: THE MOVIE is on the way. I’ve also got “Fan of the Money” merch dropping soon and another project coming before the summer hits.
Lasko Bills isn’t just a name to know in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene—he’s a force to watch on a global scale. Player Fables showcases his versatility, authenticity, and dedication to storytelling, solidifying his place as one of Atlanta’s most compelling voices. With big projects and surprises on the horizon, Lasko’s legacy is just getting started.
