Just in time for the Juneteenth holiday weekend, MIA-based songwriter/producer LunchMoney Lewis drops his Meli Andrea-produced music video for love ballad "Buttercup." Co-directed by NTRO4K, the infomercial-style visual was edited by HRITWIK CHHABRA and personifies nostalgia.

A month removed from being honored at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards alongside Ryan Ogren for his contribution to Lil Durk and J. Cole's "All My Life," Lewis delivers the R&B treat. Serving as the first official single from his forthcoming EP 'KOSH, THE LEGEND OF A SIMPLE MAN,' the Nathan "Happy" Perez-assisted cut is essentially foreplay fodder for a working man's commute home.

In a press statement about the song, the Big Chune head honcho reveals:

“Buttercup is an expression of what it feels like coming home to a woman you love and making her feel appreciated. After years of being together, you not only still find her beautiful, but your growing infatuation causes you to bestow the nickname buttercup.

The inspiration for this specific record was seasoned black couples who are still dancing, still loving, and still working to be there for each other. Kosh is my middle name, and a lot of this new album blends my personal experiences and the persona I created to narrate the story of an everyday man being vulnerable with his emotions.”
